SOMETHING'S FISHY

Fishy, but sweet.  That's my little guy's birthday cake.
Pretty lifelike, I mean fishlike,  right?

I wish I could take credit for this masterpiece, but Loralee Foley made this awesome cake.
If you live in the area and are looking for the coolest cake ever,
shoot me an e-mail and I'll put you in touch with you.
I gave her a picture of the party invitation
and she made this cake look just like the fish on the invite.
Pretty impressive!

We had a few other fishy items out for the boys to feast on.
Fishing poles made from pretzel rods and twizzlers, gummy worms for bait,
the cake ball bobbers, and of course, gold fish.

The weather was supposed to be pretty crumby,
so I made sure to have a few indoor activities planned to keep the nine 6 year old boys busy.
I won't lie, I was a little anxious about having nine 6 year old boys in my house for two hours.
I have two boys of my own and I know what type of destruction they can do on a daily basis.

Fortunately, the two hours went by smoothly and quickly.
I printed out a fish and had them either use their finger prints, markers,
crayons or pencils to decorate the fish.
Unfortunately, crafting with nine 6 year old boys is very similar to
nine 6 year old ballerinas playing football, TOTAL CHAOS!
By the time they were finished, they had stamped their faces,
each other, the table and anything else in sight.
Too bad I didn't get any pictures of that.

We also played a little game of pin the tail on the fish.

Here's my son taking his turn.

That kept them busy for another 15 minutes.

Next up, cake and ice cream.  Everyone's favorite part of a party.

I am in love with that sweet little face.

It was surely a birthday to remember.
Note to self, plan next year's party off-site!

Oh and speaking of fishy, something fishy is going on around here too.
Let's call it musical rooms.
It has kept me busy this week. More on that next week.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by and of course, I always love reading your comments.
