FIELD TRIP FRIDAY

So, Friday Finds was fun, right?  I'm moving on now.  I told you, I'm fickle!
I thought it would be fun to take you along on my shopping adventures.
Each Friday, (until my husband confiscates my credit card -ha, kidding, honey - he would never) I will take you on a tour of my favorite shopping destinations.  Now let me be clear (just in case my credit card is in jeopardy), more often than not, I am shopping for clients or just simply browsing.
I come home empty handed most of the time, right honey?  He's laughing out loud, I'm sure!

I'll start with one of my all time favorites, High Street Market, in downtown Cincinnati.
I almost always go in here for browsing purposes only.  Sometimes for inspiration.
They have the coolest inventory, but a little pricey for my thrifty self.

First up, these gorgeous John Derian decoupaged trays and plates.
This is always my first stop at High Street.  I don't own any, but I would like to someday.
They have a ton to choose from here.

I am quite fond of this one, in particular.

They also carry a nice selection of large metal letters, which seem to be all the rage these days.
They are pricey here.  I ran across some at the Burlington Antique Show I went to a few weeks ago.  They were going for $28 each.  That seems reasonable.

I drool over these hanging terrariums every time I go in.  They start at $295!
Seems like something you could make yourself pretty easily for much cheaper.

This is a good option for only $46.

I certainly wouldn't want to hang these bugs in my dining room or kitchen,
but how cool would these be in a little boy's room.
Should you care to have a few framed insects in your home, you can order them on-line here.

I'm sure by now, you're well aware that I am a fan of old chippy, rusty stools.
This orange one caught my eye.  Love it, but didn't love the price ~ $129, seriously!
You can find these left and right at antique stores for much less.

If my memory serves me correctly, I paid all of $14 for this rusty green metal stool.
It is used as a nightstand in my daughter's room.

Lastly, I have been admiring these wishbone chairs for a while now.
I was finally brave enough to check the price tag last time I was in High Street Market.
Good thing I was sitting down when I looked ~ $495 each! Yikes!

Or you can save yourself some of your hard-earned money and buy
this version from Overstock.com for just  $181.30 each.
Believe it or not, I found them for just  $99 each at my new favorite store last week.
I'm saving that one for next week's Field Trip Friday.

Even though most items at High Street Market are out of my budget,
I still love to go in there and drool over just about everything.
They also sell Dash and Albert rugs and they have tons of samples on display.
You can visit their website here.

I don't know about you, but I think I'm going to like "Field Trip Fridays".
I may even ask a few of my blogging buddies to take us on a "Field Trip" of their favorite stores.
If you are not a blogger and you have a favorite store you want to share,
you can leave a comment on my Facebook page.  I'd love to hear from you.

Have a wonderful weekend.  My daughter is having five girls over to spend the night tonight.
We'll round out the weekend with two baseballs games, two birthday parties, a piano recital
and a church retreat.  Good thing I rested up during the week!

  5. I like the change up too - I'd be happy to guest for you if you're ever out of town or something. Or it would be fun to hit up different parts of the country too. That shop looks great. I often find that I'm browsing for specific projects now too and not necessarily spending each time I'm shopping. I've always admired those John Derian plates too. Have a great weekend - sounds like a busy one!!
