I made a quick stop in one of the local Goodwills last week
and this vintage love seat immediately caught my eye.
I circled it a couple of times trying to decide if it should be my next project.
I was on the fence, until another customer started hovering.
That's all I needed to push me over the edge!
I grabbed the tag and sprinted to the cash register.
This little gem was all mine for the low price of $45.
I texted a picture of it to my good friend, Lisa.
She happened to be shopping with her sister and shared the picture with her.
Her sister was a bit horrified and probably gagged a little.
Lisa and I go way back, and fortunately,
she has faith in me and has been a witness to a few of my thrifting transformations.
She quickly assured her doubting sister that, this too, would turn out okay.
I have no idea what I will have it reupholstered in,
but I loved the lines and I have been on the lookout for a new love seat for a while now.
I found this love seat on Etsy for $450.
The style is almost identical.
I am always drawn to a single cushion look on sofas and loves seats.
I am planning to have my upholsterer make one long seat cushion.
Now I just need to decide where to put it.
I have a few ideas up my sleeve.
Again, so sorry my posts have been few and far between lately.
I have tons of posts planned in my head, but finding the time to sit down
and make them happen is proving to be difficult.
My kids and work have been keeping my very busy the last couple of weeks.
Funny, I thought I would never be as busy as I was with a newborn, a two year old and a four year old.
I was wrong!
Can't wait to see what you do with it! The lines are great and that is SUCH a steal!!
ReplyDeleteOh. I'm sure it'll be darling and we'll all want one just like it when it's transformed ;)
ReplyDeleteI just found one similar at our local thrift store and thought to myself that it had great lines! I',m sure it will be fantastic when you are done with it. Glad you are busy, but I for one miss you!
ReplyDeleteNo worries...that will be sweet when you finish the makeover:)
ReplyDeleteOh I'm sure that will look lovely when you are finished with it!
ReplyDeleteAnd I totally hear you on your last comment! Babies and toddlers have nothing on the tweens and teens when it comes to making Mom busy!
lisa's sister would really gag if she heard me because in the right cool boho apartment i think it would be cool as is. :) can't wait to see what you do!
ReplyDeleteI know it's going to be a beauty!!
ReplyDeleteI have no doubt you will transform her into something beautiful! Great find!!
ReplyDeleteYou continue to amaze me!
ReplyDeleteMiss you girl - looking forward to summer
by the pool.
What a score! It's got good bones, what a fun new project for all your spare time! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's funny...made me gag a little too but I trust your judgement:)
ReplyDeleteThis is going to make a fabulous before and after, Andrea!! Can't wait to see what you do with it. What did Mr. Oak Ridge Revival say to that one? My guess is he's pretty tolerant of projects? I'm lucky there too although sometimes I get the big sigh or the LOOK. :)
ReplyDeletefantastic points altogether, you just received a emblem new
ReplyDeletereader. What might you suggest in regards to your submit that you just made
some days ago? Any certain?

OK, in my defense ( I'm the sister of the friend ), it IS ugly! BUT, I would LOVE for you to prove me a doubting Thomas and find ME a chair for my family room for a similar amount and reupholster it with an impactful fabric and THEN and only then ( you're intimidated I'm sure! ) I will eat my words and NEVER comment negatively on ANYTHING you find ANYWHERE! In fact, I will help you take it home if I'm in town. I know you like a good challenge :) Ready, set, go!
