THE WAIT IS OVER (NEW CHAIRS)

Okay, really the wait was over about a month ago,
but like I said in my last couple of posts,
summer is getting the best of me.
Hanging out at the water park in 104 degrees sure as heck got the best of me today!
The things we do for our children.....

Sorry, back on track now, the chairs I ordered for our family room
were finally delivered after 8 weeks of waiting.
They were certainly worth the wait.

They swivel and glide.  The fun is equivalent to an amusement park ride for the kids.
I find it not nearly as amusing!

And here is a sneak peek at the West Elm rug I ordered.
Can't remember if I shared this or not, but after I ordered the rug,
I made a trip to the Pottery Barn outlet and found the same darn rug for less than half the price.
I bought it and returned the one I ordered to West Elm.
I love the neutral colors and the fun pattern.

Even though I took a photography class at the Haven conference, my camera is still smarter than me.
Once of these days, I will figure that darn thing out.
I am planning to do some updated posts on several rooms in our house, including the family room.
I am more of a hands on learner. I tried to read that ridiculous camera manual
and it was like reading Chinese.
Who wants to come over and teach me how to use my camera?
Don't all raise your hand at the same time!

I know, I still haven't done that Haven re-cap post.
Lucky for you, I am a big loser and have nothing going on this weekend.
Looks like I can get caught up on blogging.

BTW, if you have any suggestions for posts topics, feel free to send them my way.
A friend of mine, gave me a great suggestion last night and I can't wait to get started on it.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

  2. Oh my gosh, those chairs are awesome! They rock AND swivel (and they're still pretty) - what a winning combination!

What kind of camera do you have? I'm no expert, but I have a Nikon, and shoot a lot of my blog shots in "Manual" mode, which really gives you some flexibility. Have a good low light lens is also a big help. Send me an email and we can chat. :-)

Can't wait to hear about Haven - wish I could have met you there!

  4. I have long stalked that rug and am so excited that you got it!!!!! It's the perfect neutral with texture and a little interest….what a score to find it at the PB outlet! Your new chairs are so pretty too - you must feel like you have a whole new family room!

  5. Oooh. What a beautiful post. Everything about it appeals to me: the pop of turquoise, the gorgeous drapes (I've been drooling over that fabric) and how the rug is neutral but slightly modern. Great eye-candy!

Have a great weekend. Enjoy those comfy looking chairs!

  7. Oooh the chairs look awesome - and how about those checkerboard pillows? Did you have those made or did you buy them somewhere? Love those and I'm such a sucker for the checkerboard fabric. I just got a sample of one from Robert Allen that I love and want to use. Mmm...post topics...I'll have to keep thinking. I always enjoy all of your posts, but I always feel like I need to freshen things up a bit from time to time too. How about a Refresher Friday where you do some before/refresh/after photos (with your new camera skills) of your home? We don't have much going on this weekend either, so I might try to write up a post.

  8. The chairs look great.....yep....I am sure it is like a toy to them:).
I went to the camera presentation also and after a while started glazing over.....so much to learn. First I had to learn about blogging and NOW photography! There is always something new to figure out.....you know?

  10. Love the new chairs! I just noticed your family room curtains, I'm getting the same ones in our dining room but the blue color! I love that pattern! I actually really like your color but I thought the blue would go better with our color scheme. Andrea

  14. How did we not meet at Haven!? I follow your blog but must have missed that you were going....oh well, next time!! So I must say, I took the $69 shootflyshoot online photog class and it was SO worth it! I took it before haven so felt like the haven class just drilled it in. It REALLY simplified things.

Where did you get your chairs! We're looking for some similar. Love them!

  15. Definitely worth the wait - especially for amusement park quality chairs! Don't let your intoxicated guests sit there!

And the rug is beautiful - even more so for half price!

It's Saturday - I'm reading your blog (hope that doesn't make me a loser)!!!!

PS- I'm so glad we had the chance to meet at Haven. I didn't take the class so I still have no idea how to use my camera :/

  17. Did I miss where you got the chairs? I am in need of swivel chairs and can't find any that don't look like they belong in the old folks home? Will you share your source?
