THANKSGIVING TRUTH

Warning, if you are expecting to see a beautifully set Thanksgiving table and lovely fall decor, please cover your eyes.  Oh wait, don't do that!   Then you won't be able to read the rest of this post.  Just take note, I warned you......

Our company will be arriving today and the truth is, my house currently looks like this....

and this....

Looks like a battle is about to begin...

Someone set up shop in the living room....

Wow.....

and another Wow......

Don't worry, my kids will be helping me put this place back together.
If you've been reading this blog long enough, you know I am a bit of a neat freak.
But, truthfully, this week, I am even thankful for messes.
My kids had a blast making the mess and I will have a blast watching them clean it up!

I'lll leave you with a few pretty pictures.
I did manage to add some fresh flowers to the dining room table.

The turkey is thawed, the family is on their way and
I am going to enjoy every last second of this holiday.
I like a pretty table and a neat house just as much as everyone else,
but the reason Thanksgiving is my very favorite holiday is because
I get to relax and enjoy spending time with family.

Wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!

  3. Love the flowers and jars...pretty color combination. Well, Thanksgiving is about family and company and having everyone around and if it is not messy before it will be after..it's a "good" mess. Have a great Thanksgiving!

  4. haha love this post! Hope you, your kiddos and the rest of your family enjoy all of your time together. I like everything to look pretty and be in it's place, but I agree that at the end of the day, I just appreciate the time we have with our loved ones. Happy Thanksgiving!!!

  6. It's amazing how we manage to throw our houses back together in time for that doorbell ringing! I wake up to an adult version of this every morning and once even did a post about my life in the messy lane. But I do realize that my teens will soon be out on their own and I will probably have too much time and a VERY neat home. I'd rather have the kids!!

    Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

    XO,
    Janie
