We had such great time on our adventure last weekend.
As much as I love my computer and my I-phone,
it sure was nice to be completely unplugged for a few days.
Apparently, I was so unplugged, my mom and sister practically put out an A.P.B.
when they didn't hear from me for a couple of days. Oh well, it's nice to be loved!
We squeezed a lot of activity into three days.
One beautiful morning, we hiked to the top of a mountain.
You can see the cabin in the background where we stayed.
We visited a swimming hole the locals like to call "Slippery Rock". The kids had a blast!
My little guy had such a great time exploring and fishing.
In the midst of all his fun, he lost his first tooth and didn't even realize it.
My husband noticed the last day of the trip that his tooth was missing.
Check out his new smile!
We spent two days on Lake Keowee. Fortunately, we had gorgeous weather both days.
We swam, explored, tubed, jumped off cliffs (at least some people did).
Someone has to be the photographer, right?
All the kids got to make their own bows and do some target practicing back at the cabin.
Our friends' little boy was having the best time playing a game of fetch in the lake :-)
My daughter has suddenly starting posing for every picture.
And last but not least, we did some skiing. I was the last one to give it a shot.
I haven't been on skis since college,
but I didn't want my kids to think their mother is some kind of wimp,
so I gave it the ole' college try.
I got up on my third attempt. The lovely picture on the bottom is my right thigh.
I incurred a bit of a rope burn (on both legs) trying to get up the first time.
Not wanting to appear wimpy to my kids, I brushed it off and kept going.
I was proud that I conquered my fear and even more proud
that I didn't give up after my first failed attempt.
However, I'm thinking I might not EVER want to ski again!!!
It has taken me a couple of days to recover from all the fun, but I'm almost there.
I have been busy making some changes around here and I am eager to show you.
I hope everyone is having a great week. Can't believe it's half way over already!
Oh looks like such a wonderful vacation. Lots of fun and great pics to show it! and look at you on those ski's!! but ouch that rope burn looks bad. Hope you recover from your trip soon!

ReplyDeleteIt looks like a fun weekend was had by all. It is nice to get away, unplug and spend some time outside. Way to go on your skis! I have never tried to water ski...I think like Carmel, I would chicken out.
ReplyDeleteI have not been on skis for quite a while myself, I didn't have a bruise just a slightly misplaced swim suit the last time.
