THE BIG DAY

Tomorrow is the BIG day!
You know, the one I've been referring to in my last several posts, the first day of school!!!
It's not like I was counting down the days.......
(however, in case you're wondering, we have 15 hours and 49 minutes more to go)

We have carefully documented this day for the past 8 years.
There is always a mixture of excitement and bit of nervousness for all parties involved.

I would be lying if I said I was one of those mothers that cries on the first day of school
because she's going to miss her children all day.
Now, this is a big year for me, all three of my children will be in school (the same school) all day long.  I may shed a few tears tomorrow and I probably will miss them, for a few minutes.
But then I plan to do whatever the heck I want for seven straight hours, all by myself!
I am quite certain, I have earned it.

I have stayed home with my children since my youngest was 9 months old.
There have been plenty of highs and lows during these past 9 years.
I have questioned my decision to leave the workforce on many occasions,
but ultimately I know I made the right decision for me and my family.

I may not be running a multi million dollar company, selling the heck out of whatever, saving lives,
or winning awards for my achievements, but at the end of the day when my job of cleaning, cooking, refereeing, chauffeuring, nurturing and loving are all completed and everyone is sound asleep in their warm beds,  I give myself a little pat on the back for making it through another day,
and that my friends, is the only award I need.

  7. Don't fool yourself, you are running a multi million dollar company, you just won't reap ALL the reward till they are old enough to run one too. That is when you get the real payback.
