Look out below, because this bad boy is coming down soon.....

This nuisance of a tree has been dropping loads and loads of these pesky sweet gum balls
all over our yard and driveway.
We sweep them up, fill up several trash cans full and the next day, the ground is covered again.

I considered trying to make one of these over the holidays.....

But, then I realized that I literally hate those little suckers.
I don't want to have anything to do with them.
(It is kind of pretty though, isn't it?)

Not only is the tree dying, it's just plain ugly, even when it blooms.

The tree coming down is step number one of "Operation Backyard Makeover".
More demolition will be done, and then hopefully we can start making it pretty.

I'll share the plan soon.

Thanks for stopping by this week and I hope you have a fantastic weekend.

  1. That's a HUGE tree!!! I can't stand those things either, they always get stuck in my dog's paws. Ouch! Looking forward to seeing what you do out there!

  2. I always wondered what those things were.... Bye bye dead, ugly tree, hello beautiful back yard!

  3. Oooh that's going to be fun for your kiddos watching that sucker come down!

  4. Speaking of "Timber!" - we were out looking at a house yesterday and the house next door was having some trees removed. Well, I didn't realize they were getting fairly close to the actual "timber!" portion of the process - scared the living daylights out of me! Hooray for the sticky ball tree coming down.

  5. Rio is always bringing those in attached to her, not my favorite! Do you like the tree stump tables, looks like you could do a coffee table, maybe for outside??

  6. I have been surfing online more than 3 hours nowadays, yet I
never found any fascinating article like yours. It is beautiful
value sufficient for me. In my opinion, if all site owners and bloggers
made good content as you probably did, the web will probably be
much more useful than ever before.
