I hate to get off the topic of home improvement and decorating, but I feel it's my duty to pay the Kentucky Wildcats some respect and blog about them today! I had another post all ready to go, in the unfortunate event that the Cats didn't pull off the win.  But lucky for all Wildcat fans, that post will have to wait until Tuesday.

As a University of Kentucky alum, I take great pride in the Wildcats and their amazing victory over North Carolina (oh, and let's not forget Ohio State - sorry Welsch family).  I remember when we won the National Championship in 1996 and 1998 like it was yesterday.  Not to age myself, but I was a junior in college in '96 and it was one of the highlights of my college experience.  Sorry, I digress.

Since we watched the Friday night game v. Ohio State at my brother and sister in-law's house, and we won, we must not mess with the formula.  We were back there again for today's game.

I put tattoos on all the kids to get them in the spirit.

My son and my sweet niece very intently watching the game.

My cute little nephew, my daughter and my son getting their games faces on.

The victory celebration.

These lovely cupcakes were my contribution to the game watching party.  I'd love to tell you my third grader decorated these, but no, that would be me. A pastry chef I am not!
They say UK in case you were wondering.

And of course, a victory beer!

We will all be back there next Saturday night to cheer on our team.  It's been 13 years since the Wildcats won a National Championship. I think it's about time!

  1. Looks like you all had a fun time cheering on the CATS!!!! FINAL FOUR BABY!

  2. Rub it in! lol Its ok NC has had its share of victories and it was someone else's turn to win. Congrats!

  3. Oh my gosh! Your family is the cutest! I'm an MSU alum but they didn't do so well this year. Thanks for stopping by my blog! I'm your latest follower. ;-)

  4. Those beautiful blue eyes show up so well with the UK blue. My father is stomping in heaven over the UK win!!! What's better than my children, blue skies and a UK win! Char from HH!

  5. Yay!!!! GO BIG BLUE!! I was SO proud of them this past weekend- Liggins and JORTS were awesome!! Knight played amazingly well too- they all did great! I live in NC in Tarheel country (my husband goes to UNC) so I am relishing this moment of victory!

  6. Andrea- I absolutely love your blog! Great pics, great fun, and great games played by the Cats! Thanks for the shout out to us! With four big buckeye fans in the house, our night didn't end nearly as well as yours! Oh well, guess it wasn't our year! Keep up the great work.....love it! Melissa Welsch
