I am still not sure what color I want to paint it, but I finally found my inspiration,
She is a very talented designer and she tackles some fabulous DIY projects.
She's my kind of girl!
My shelf won't be blue, but I will most certainly be using
this amazing oil based paint by Rust-oleum.
Look at that high gloss finish. Love it!
I first learned about Rust-oleum Protective Enamel from
She painted this side table in Smoke Gray.
I can't wait to get to a Home Depot and get my hands on a quart of this paint.
I'm still not sure on a color yet, but I will keep you posted.
It's on the schedule to get painted this weekend.
I have put it off long enough.
Anyone else had any experience using this product?
I have painted with oil based paint plenty of times before,
so I am aware of the mess it makes and I'm willing to deal with it.
I sure hope my project turns out like Danielle and Jenny's. Wish me luck!
I haven't used the oil based enamel yet but I been using a latex water based enamel from Behr and I like it! Love the bookcase and can't wait to see it!
ReplyDeleteHad some catching up to do because I was out of town for a long weekend! I'm in love with the color on that desk, and I'm itching to try that paint! Can't wait to see how the shelf turns out. Also - how sweet of your hub. I'm feeling a sweet tooth attack right now ;)

ReplyDeleteIt promises to look amazing..a great piece.
ReplyDeleteYes! I've painted an old nightstand with the Rustoleum! I used the satin finish in black and it turned out great! I was so happy with the finish. Can't wait to see your shelf finished.
ReplyDeleteThe oil-based enamel does hold up to a beating - wonderful for a busy family. If you do use it let it cure a good bit - give the paint a chance to really harden up and it will last for-eva.
