Well, I finally did it.
I've been thinking about it for years, and even talked about it here,
This year I finally took the plunge and bought a fake Christmas tree.

Here it is, in all its glory.....

Isn't it a beauty?

We had to shove the two blue chairs down a bit to make room for it,
but I think this corner is the perfect spot for it.

I'll spare you the dramatic details of our annual family tree search,
but let's just say, we went home tree-less.
I picked this one out all by myself, the next day.

I got it at the Frontgate Outlet. It's a nine foot pre-lit tree and not only was it marked down,
but all trees were 50% off that day. SCORE!
I drug that baby in all by myself and had it set up and ready to decorate
when the kids got home from school that day.

Everyone approved and we are all excited to skip the family tree hunt
next year and the next year and the next year.....

I sure do miss watering a real tree and sweeping up needles on a daily basis, NOT!
However, I must admit, I do slightly miss the lovely scent of a live tree.
Real or fake, having a Christmas tree in the house really sets the tone for the holidays.

I'm signing off now until after the new year.
Thank you so much for sharing this year with me.
I wish you all a
and a

  1. I love it!! It's tall and skinny and all I ask for in a tree if I had higher ceilings. We still get s live tree...I grew up with them and have always had them in my married life. I think my kids would surely protest if I went faux! But I can see all of the pluses as you do, too. You can always get spruce scented candles ans air freshener! lol!

    Merry Christmas! :)

  2. i love your tree. We have a bit of both in the house so I can smell the real deal in one room and not have to pick up those nasty little needles in another!
    Merry Christmas!

  3. Merry Christmas, Andrea. Your tree is gorgeous. Enjoy your time off.

  4. What a bargain!!! Though admittedly I am not a fake tree kind of girl, I have to say, yours is pretty awesome and I agree, the corner is the perfect place! Enjoy your holidays Andrea!

  5. It is beautiful! I too thought I would always be a "real" tree person, growing up in Ohio. But after moving to Texas over 20 years ago, the 1st Christmas it was 70 degrees outside! With the ac on a real tree in the house just didn't seem like the Christmas's I grew up with! LOL! Faux tree every since!! They make Christmas trees now that look so real and pre-lite..You can't beat it! Enjoy your tree and have a Merry Christmas!

  6. Merry Christmas too you too! I LOVE your tree!

  7. We have had an artificial tree now for several years, and I do love the convenience of it. I always had to wait for DH to put the lights on, but not any more!

Get one of these to sell the illusion of a real tree:

  8. it looks beautiful!!! merry christmas to you and your family!

  9. She's lovely! The height looks awesome in there. I'm a HUGE fan of how much easier things are with a fake tree, although I do miss the smell. I need to find a great smelling pine candle so I can get my fix :)

  10. It's beautiful, Andrea!! And I love the wreaths on your windows! I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas and have a happy happy happy new year!

  11. Andrea, Love you tree! Next time you are up this way again let me know (neat Mason)... it would be fun to do lunch!
