FAVORITE VIEW

In a world full of tragedy, violence, despair and heartache, it is sometimes hard to focus on the good.
There is so much beauty in the world and I hate that it often gets overshadowed by the bad.
I was on a mission to find some good this week.

Oddly, my mission was accomplished at the gym.
My day normally starts with a trip to the gym.

This  is my view from the room where I work out each day.

It is a beautiful view and there is a beautiful story behind it.

This church sits atop Mount Adams, right outside downtown Cincinnati, Ohio.
Just across the river in Bellevue, Kentucky lives a sweet little couple
and they have a view of that church from their home.
The woman commented to her husband on a regular basis
how beautiful she thought that church was and how she wished they could see it at night.
Well, one year, as an anniversary present, that sweet husband made her wish come true.
He paid to have outdoor spotlights installed at the church
and he paid the electric bill for the next 10 years.
Talk about romantic!

I remember reading that story in the newspaper several years ago,
and thinking, wow, that is true love.

I told my kids that story and they love to re-tell it.

There's a little "good" to start your weekend off.

  4. What a lovely story ! I actually said "Wowwww" out loud as I read it ! I tend to stereotype men as not being romantic , or thoughtful, and that completely proves me wrong !
On another note - I'll be visiting Cincinnati in the near future - what is the nicest hotel in downtown Cincy, and any good restaurant recommendations ??
